Robert Winston, one of Britain's best-known scientists talked about his latest book Bad Ideas?, in which he presents his 'Scientist's Manifesto', the principles which he believes could ensure a better and safer relationship between scientist and society. In his view, scientists must listen to public fears and the concerns of ordinary people, and it is the role of every citizen to play a part in understanding scientific achievement. He calls for society as a whole to take responsibility to ensure that our scientific knowledge is used wisely for the benefit of mankind.
